Virgil Leroy Walls, 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Geary, Oklahoma. Virgil was born to Elmer Joseph Walls and Myrla Noyes Walls on August 6, 1934 in Geary, Oklahoma. After graduating from Geary High School in 1952, Virgil Leroy Walls served in the United States Army from February 10, 1953 thru February 9, 1955 serving as an airplane mechanic at Fort Hood, Texas. He married Jimmie Darlene Walls March 16, 1957 and was a U.S.D.A. Federal Meat Inspector serving most of his career years at Wilsons Meat Packing Plant in Oklahoma City, OK. Virgil later married Vesta Lee Stough on May 5, 1989 and they spent 27 years residing in Geary, OK enjoying retirement life together. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church and life time member of the American Legion. Virgil’s greatest joys during his lifetime were serving God, loving his family and friends and having a servant’s heart thru the gift of sharing to any and all in need. A great legacy he leaves for his family to follow.
Virgil is survived by his daughter, Roberta Lee Armstrong, Valliant, Oklahoma and her son, Clifford Joseph Walls of Geary, Oklahoma. His sisters, Shirley Ann Lehman of Enid, Oklahoma and Kimberly Williams of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Brother, James Edward Walls and Wife Trina Walls of Eufaula, Oklahoma. Granddaughter, Kaci Farrar and Husband Tanner Farrar along with Great Grandson, Steven Maddox Farrar to arrive February 14, 2018. Four grandsons, Brian Christian and wife Cecelia, Anthony Thornton and wife Nina, Traves Armstrong and wife Tasha, Phillip Richardson and wife Serina; eight great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and their families.
Virgil was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wives, Jimmie Darlene Walls and Vesta Lee Stough Walls, Sister, Evelyn Joyce Burns, Brother, Dale Joseph Walls and Grandson, Dakota Walls and nephew, Jim Bob Burns.
Our entire family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the caregivers of Virgil Walls this past year, Darla Brown, Marilyn Rosson Simpson, Daysha Garrett Pratt, Debbie Jones, Carol Rice and Russell Murray Hospice staff.
