Elnor A. Franklin was born December 13, 1925 to John Franklin and Liddia (Yandell) Snider near Indiahoma, OK. She passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, OK at the age of 91. Growing up, she and her family traveled to several states and lived in New Mexico and Colorado. They returned to Oklahoma where she had many relatives in and around Sayre, Carter, and Snyder OK. Elnor married Johnnie "Dude" Franklin on March 22, 1941 in Lookeba, OK, and he preceded her in death February 8, 2006 in Weatherford, OK. After Dude's discharge from the service they moved to the Lookeba-Binger area, and then moved to the Hydro area in the 1960's. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and quilting. She was a very accomplished seamstress and embroiderer. She liked to cook for, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, which was a very important part of Her and Dude's life.
Survivors Include, five daughters, Shirley Miller and her husband August of Hydro, OK, Nita Gathers and her husband Ron of Hinton, OK, Linda Smith and her husband Gary of Weatherford, OK, Charlette Constant and her husband Jim of Watonga, OK and Tammie Davis and her husband Marlin of Watonga, OK; ten grandchildren, Sharla Garcia and her husband Joe, Johnnie Miller and his wife Blanca, Ronda McNatt and her husband Dusty, Steve Gathers and his wife Julie, Trevor Smith, Tyler Smith and his wife Kendra, Jeanna Crystle and her husband Joshua, Jayci Henrikson and her husband Jared, Chad Davis and his wife Dawn, and Travis Davis; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, Art Snider and his wife Juanita of Chickasha, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Liddia Snider, her husband Johnnie "Dude" Franklin, five brothers, Clyde, James, Bill, Virgil, and Olen Snider; and three sisters, Bertha Brock, Nona Jenkins, and Elsie Drennen.
Services: First Baptist Church, Monday, 2:00 pm, February 20, 2017, Hydro, OK
