Ishel Delmer Sears was born June 24, 1931 near Sickles, OK to Ishel and Dola Sears. He passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Corn Heritage Village in Corn, OK at the age of 85. Ishel lived his entire life on the Sears family farm near Sickles, OK and graduated from Sickles High School.
He married Loretta Huckabay, March 10, 1950 in Oklahoma City, OK. They had four children; Bruce, Carol, Pamela, and Janet. She preceded him in death on February 12, 1995. He later married Patricia Bates on January 5, 1996.
Ishel was preceded in death by his parents Ishel and Dola Sears, his wife Loretta Sears, and his sisters Barbara Bradley, Helen Braisher, and Wilda Earp.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Sears of the home in Sickles, OK, children; Bruce Sears and wife Kathy of Elk City, Oklahoma, Carol Gudgel of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Pam Misak and husband Doug of Colony, Oklahoma, and Janet Harris and husband John of Mancos, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ishel was a hardworking, dedicated, Christian family man who was proud of his farm and his family. He was a farmer from a young age and a longtime deacon of Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church.
The Sears family would like to thank the staff of Corn Heritage Village for their special care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Alzheimer’s Association.
Services will be held on Monday. February 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church, nine miles west of Binger, OK on Highway 152.
Burial will follow at Sickles Cemetery in Lookeba, OK.
