Fredia Dyantha Darrah

Fredia Dyantha Darrah was born July, 1, 1924 in Lookeba, OK, to George and Gladys (Stiles) Dunn. She passed away December 17, 2017 at her home in Hinton, OK at the age of 93. Fredia grew up in Lookeba, OK and attended Lookeba Public Schools. She married Kenneth Roy Darrah on January 19, 1942. The couple made their home on the farm in Lookeba until 1959 when they moved to California for a year. Upon their return to Caddo Co., the couple made their home in Hinton. Fredia began a new adventure attending Paul's Beauty College in the early 1960s and put in a beauty shop in her home. She and Kenneth bought Darrah's Chevrolet Dealership and worked together there many years. They lived in Watonga several years, where they owned and operated, Darrah custom Harvesting, cutting wheat from Texas to North Dakota. Fredia cooked meals for the crew, as well as tending to many other items related to the harvesting. Fredia also worked in Quality Control at the 3M plant in Weatherford, OK, until retirement. Fredia was a long time member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hinton, OK. Fredia loved all things creative. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering, ceramics, and macramé as well as teaching others to do all of these things. At the age of 90 she made a beautiful quilt that won "Best in Show" at the Hinton Fair. She was treasured by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gladys Dunn, husband, Kenneth Darrah, 2 grandsons, infant son of Janet, and Michael Hulet, son of Melvin and Linda, and sister; Mavis VanRiper.

Survivors Include: 2 daughters, Linda Hulet and husband Melvin of Magnolia, TX and Janet Hilliard and husband Robert of Hinton, OK, 5 grandchildren, Mark "Kent" Hulet and wife Brittany of Magnolia, TX, Myron Hulet and wife Kristie of Magnolia, TX, Lorinda Locklin and husband Jamie of Austin, TX, Shane Hilliard and wife Melissa of Weatherford, OK, and Jana Brence and husband Sammy of Mustang, OK, 11 great- grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
