Robert "Bob" Neil Alexander was born on December 18, 1936 in Lookeba, OK to Neil Robert and Bessie Naomi Ruth Coleman. He passed away with his daughters by his side, Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, OK at the age of 81. Bob enlisted in the US Navy in 1952 at the age of 15 but had lied about his age and was quickly discharged when his age was discovered. The following year he gained his mother’s permission and enlisted in the US Army. He served two tours in the Vietnam War in various roles, including Airborne Ranger Special Forces with the 75th Infantry. Hooha! When he retired from the US Army he joined the Oklahoma City Police Department, where he was a Senior Jailer/Supervisor. Upon retirement he moved back out to Bridgeport and raised horses. Bob loved his horses. Most of all he loved his family, his daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil Alexander and Ruth Holt, and his wife Reuelene (Snider) Alexander.
Survivors include: Daughters Carol Marco and husband Timothy of Copperas Cove, TX, Catherine Boyd and her husband William of Santa Clarita, CA, Patricia Alexander of Bridgeport, OK and Shirlene Meadows and her husband David of Altus, OK. Grandchildren: (Carol) Justin, Jeremey, Joshua, and Jesse Marco. (Catherine) Dara Nicholson, Maegan Krage, Jennifer Wolford, and Jeffrey Boyd. (Patricia) Brittany Burks. (Shirlene) Jordan Walker, Danee' Meadows, and Hunter Meadows. Great grandchildren: (Carol) Adrianna, Wyatt, Jameson, and Matthew Marco. (Catherine) Blake Boyd, Iris Sweatt, Kaidence Boyd, Lilly Leingang, Adrianna, Nathan, Matthew, and Nicholas Wolford. (Patricia) Skylor, Chole, and Evan Burks. (Shirlene) Braye Scot Benson. His very special niece, who he referred to as his fifth daughter, Melinda Snider and great nieces Carla and Ine’s de Malezioux. His sister Cecilia Sherry of Colorado, as well as many other relatives and friends. Special mention to Bob’s very dear friend John David Floyd.
