Curtis Wayne Nix

March 31, 1932 - April 4, 2018


Curtis Wayne Nix was born on March 31, 1932 at Windsor Farm in Canadian County, OK to Vernon McLin and Maude Augusta (Winn) Nix. He passed away on April 4, 2018 in Hinton, OK at the age 86. Curtis graduated from Hinton High School in 1949, graduating President of his senior class, and attended Draughon School of Business. Curtis married Wyneama Tidwell and to this union was born 5 children. He later married Maxine on August 10, 1970 in Colorado Springs, CO. He worked for the Grain Co. in Yukon, OK, worked as a salesman for Jewel Tea, worked as an insurance agent and real estate agent. Curtis enjoyed golfing, bowling, cards, dominoes, watching sports, Thunder basketball, and OU Football. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hinton, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Maude Nix, wife, Maxine Nix, son, Michael Wayne Nix, siblings: Frank, Jack, Carl, Delwin, Doris, and Glenn Nix, and Elperna Mills, and Lois Schedler, grandsons, Jason Colbert Burris and Joel Boyer.

Survivors Include: his children: Mark Douglas Nix and wife Marla of OKC,OK, Bobbie Burris and husband Michael of Tahlequah, OK, Glenda Williams of Edmond, OK, Carla Pate of Bethany, OK, and 2 step sons, Marty Boyer of Loveland, CO, and Mark Boyer of Weatherford, OK, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brothers, Garland Nix of OKC,OK, and Roy Nix of Grand Terrace, CA, as well as many other relatives and friends.
