November 21, 1933 - January 30, 2018
Archie Dillon Marsh, better known by friends and family as Dillon, was born on November 21, 1933 on the family farm east of Cement, OK to James and Margie (Seals) Marsh. He passed away on January 30, 2018 at his home in Hydro, OK at the age of 84. He was number 6 of 13 children. He attended a one room country school, leaving in the 8th grade to help on the family farm. He went to work in the oilfield at the age of 18. In 1953, he met the love of his life, Mary Robertson, and they were married on August 28, 1954. They had two daughters, Barbara Kay and Mary Patricia. In 1965, he was called into the ministry, and pastored churches in Apache, Woodward, Canton, Atoka, Mt. Zion, Elk City, Anadarko, and back to Mt. Zion, until his retirement in 2005. After retiring from pastoring, He ministered in churches of all denominations. He preached somewhere almost every Sunday. He loved to share the gospel every chance he got. He touched many lives in his lifetime and also in his final days in the hospital. During his ministry, he served 8 years on the West Oklahoma Pentecostal Holiness Board, and 4 years on the West Oklahoma Conference Youth Board. He was also caretaker for the campground for many years. Aside from his ministry, he spent his days working alongside his grandson and son in law on the farm. He loved working the land, cutting and bailing hay, building fence, or anything else that was farm related. If you asked, he would tell you, "I love it". He was an avid fan of the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers basketball teams. He never missed an opportunity to go to the games with his running buddies, Bro. Tom and Bro. Mark. He had a green thumb and raised wonderful gardens, and enjoyed giving the fruits of his crops to family and friends in the community. He raised the best sweet potatoes in the county.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margie Marsh, siblings, Don, Stanley, Earl, and Lester Marsh, Margie Henry, and Goldie Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Marsh, of Hydro, OK, his daughter, Barbara Lierle and husband Terry of Hydro, OK, and his daughter, Pat Lisenbery and husband Terry of Binger, OK,; his grandchildren: Justin Lierle and wife Brianna of Hydro, OK, Shana Lierle of Hydro, OK, Travis Lisenbery and wife Denea of Binger, OK, Trevor Lisenbery and wife Brandi of Binger, OK, Makayla Headrick and husband Josh of Hinton, OK, and Brenda Lisenbery of Binger, OK; his great grandchildren: Tayten and Tabrey Lierle of Hydro, OK, Trenton, Bethany, and Trevin Lisenbery, and Brittney Von Allman, and Camrey Opitz of Binger, OK, Daithan Kitchko and Paitan Corlee of Binger, OK, Makila, Joshlin, and Jacob Headrick of Hinton, OK; his sisters: Minnie Butler, Dollie Underwood, Lucy Burkett, and Fern Bruce, his brothers: Odie Marsh and George Marsh, as well as many other relatives and friends, and his faithful companion, "Snoopy".
He loved everybody and everybody loved him.
