July 21, 1932 - January 2, 2018
Izora Luella Hancock Seiger was born on July 21, 1932. Her childhood was spent in the Bado, Orion, Chester, Seiling area.
Regarding 1950, she wrote: “This was an exciting year. Alfred was in the USAF stationed in Jet, Oklahoma. I was going to school at Seiling. We meet and from then on school wasn’t as important as it should be.” She married Alfred D Seiger on December 3, 1950 and he preceded her in death December 2012.
They followed the Air Force orders for the next 18 years. They lived in six states and Alfred completed four tours overseas. Izora always returned to Fairview, Oklahoma - close to their families to care for their children. In 1968, Alfred retired from the Air Force. Izora and Alfred opened Seiger’s Jewelry in Geary; moving to Enid in 1993. They retired from the jewelry business in January 2000.
Izora’s greatest joy in life is children, first of all, her five children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren plus several generations of children she taught at the Geary First Baptist and Orion Baptist Church. Special family and church moments are documented in the many, many photo albums she organized with love after her retirement.
Izora went to meet her Lord and Savior on January 2nd, 2018 in her home surrounded by her children.
Today she celebrates that love in heaven with her husband, infant daughter, Cloretta Ann; her father, Ellis Hancock; and her mother, Amelia; and many very special aunts and uncles that helped raise her.
Survivors include her sister: Yvonne (Bonnie) Hancock Kness and husband Jim of Enid, Oklahoma; Five children: Brenda Seiger Kurtz and husband Dick of Geary; Larry Seiger and wife Jennifer of Cary; North Carolina, Terry Seiger Buck Clark and husband Bob of Sebring, Florida; Kaye Seiger Kelsh of Enid, Oklahoma Michael Seiger of Geary.
