Rena Rose Young Bear was born on October 24, 1943 in Concho, OK to Raymond Buffalo Meat and Mary Gladys Fletcher. She passed away on September 1, 2017 in OKC,OK at the age of 73. Rena graduated from Chilocco Indian High School and attended Haskell Indian Junior College. She married Clinton Young Bear in Weatherford, OK. She lived most of her life in Geary, OK except for a short time in Needles, CA. Rena enjoyed beadwork, watching game shows, playing bingo, and board games. Rena was a member of the Indian Baptist Church and Traditional Sundance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Buffalo Meat and Mary Armstrong, her husband, Clinton Young Bear, Sr., her son, JR Young Bear, her daughter, J'Shon Young Bear, siblings: Thomas Woolworth, Raymond Gene Buffalo Meat, Roe Buffalo Meat, Laverne Buffalo Meat, Myrcine Buffalo Meat, Josephine Buffalo Meat, and Marguerite Sue Spotted Corn.
Survivors Include: her children, Shirley McCord of Tucson, AZ, Mary McCord of Geary, OK, and Nancy McCord of Geary, OK, her grandchildren, Relyn Chow Paw, Mineese, Leslie, and Myrcine, her sister, Edna Sutton of Canton, OK, and her brother, Chester White Man of Geary, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
