Obituary

Bennie W. Bailey was born on Tuesday, the 11th day of March,1941,to Arthur and Inez (Hawkins) Bailey of Sickles, Oklahoma. He passed away on Friday, the 7th day of July, 2017. Bennie grew up on the family farm in Sickles, Oklahoma. He graduated from Sickles High School in May of 1959. Bennie worked at the Sickles Peanut House, but spent most of his adult years driving semi's whether it be hauling rock for 1-40 and other major highways in Oklahoma. He also drove for himself as an owner-operator. He also drove for Sequoyah Mills and later on for Hollytex hauling carpet all over the lower 48. He drove thousands and thousands of miles, accident free. He was a farm and ranch manager for Oron Lister at Sayre, Oklahoma for three (3) years. When he returned to Gracemont, he went to work at District I in Caddo County hauling rock again. He was also a distributor for Curtis Cattle Breeding Services. He became interested in getting his three (3) boys into showing cattle and was a charter member of the Oklahoma Maine-Anjou Association. Bennie professed Jesus Christ as his savior publicly, June 4, 2017. He married, Mary McGreevy, in 1966 and from this union the raised (3) three sons, Dannie, Wyatt and Travis.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home. Dannie and Ronda Bailey of Anadarko, Oklahoma. Wyatt and Sandra Bailey of Gracemont, Oklahoma and Travis of Gracemont, Oklahoma. Also, surviving him are (8) eight grandchildren and (1) one great-granddaughter, Leslie Bailey and her daughter, Dannalyn Rodriguez both of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Lacey and Deven Bailey of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Kelby Bailey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Destri Snow of Seoul, South Korea and Lane and Tylr Bailey both of Gracemont, Oklahoma. He is also survived by (1) one brother, Glenn Bailey,(2) two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bailey and Judy Pyron and husband Max, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Proceeding him in death were his parents, Arthur ad Inez Bailey, brother, Leroy "Red" Bailey, sister, Lavone Walbaum and grandson, Justin Snow.

Events

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Gracemont United Methodist Church on Monday, the 10th day of July, 2017.
