Evelyn Irene Young was born on December 8, 1945 in Anadarko, OK to George and Hazel Irene (Heavin) Byrom. She passed away on June 27, 2017 in Binger, OK at the age of 71. She graduated from Binger High School. She married Jack W. Young on June 20, 1964 in Binger, OK. They lived in Binger all of their married life. Evelyn worked at the Binger Tag Agency, raised several 100 head of Holstein calves, worked at the Finishing Touch for many years, worked for Myrtle Ann Cummins for the last 3-4 years. Evelyn did volunteer work at Waynoka Schools, She was known as "Nan" to her grandchildren and all of their friends. Evelyn kept all of her grandchildren, (her pride and joy), when they were babies. She enjoyed reading and loved to decorate. She was a member of Young Homemakers, Young Farmers and Ranchers with Farm Bureau. Evelyn was Baptized at the Assembly of God Church in Gracemont, attended the Church of God in Binger, and was currently attending, The Lost Cowboy Church in Gracemont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Byrom, her grandson Layne Meriwether, 2 brothers, Jimmy Don and Robert Byrom, and her sister, Margie Allen.
Survivors Include: her husband, Jack Young of Binger, OK, her children, Kelly Meriwether and husband Michael of Waynoka, OK, and Daren Young and wife Alleta of Gracemont, OK, her grandchildren, Shaylee Hale and husband Jared of Hinton, OK, Tucker Young of Gracemont, OK, Logan Meriwether of Waynoka, OK, and Loran Young of Gracemont, OK, and Travis Meriwether and wife Paige of Burnet, TX; her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Adyssan Hale of Hinton, OK, and Enzo Meriwether of Burnet, TX; her siblings, Audra Hamilton of Buie, TX, Edna Myers of Edmond, OK, Virginia Taylor of Lookeba, OK, Shirley Luper and husbnad Ronnie of Alfalfa, OK, George Byrom, Jr. and wife Elta of Chickasha, OK, David Byrom and wife Ada of Washita, OK, Lorrie Mogg and husband Alan Lookeba, OK, and Johnnie Byrom and wife Rita of Sapulpa, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
