Joan Forney was born on March 19, 1928 West of Geary, OK to Jack and Regina (Nicolai) Weygandt. She passed away on June 11, 2017 in Watonga, OK at the age of 89. Joan graduated from Geary High School. During her last year of High School, Joan lived with Fred and Ruth Sleeper, worked for them for room and board throughout the week, and went home on the weekends. Joan married Garl Forney on February 12, 1948 in Henrietta, TX. They lived SW of Watonga for all of their life. In 1989, she moved to El Reno, then moved to Greenfield in 1993. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and mowing her lawn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Regina Weygandt, her husband Garl Forney, her son, Scott Forney, 1 sister, Mary Sullivan, and 1 brother, Robert Weygandt.
Survivors Include: her children, Kenny Forney and wife Mary of Greenfield, OK, Jack Forney and wife Sheila of Fay, OK, and Bev Yost and husband Den of Kingfisher, OK, 9 grandchildren, Mike Forney and wife Amber of OKC,OK, Ja'Nette Lokey and husband Aaron of Chickasha, OK, Kyla Forney and Michael Jacobs of El Reno, OK, Miranda Cash and husband Don of Fay, OK, Susan Forney of El Reno, OK, T.J. Londagin of Washington, D.C., Jack Forney, Jr. and wife Keesty of Moore, OK, Kane Yost of Kingfisher, OK, and Kaci Yost of El Reno, OK, 14 great grandchildren, Rayne Lokey, Kaston Lokey, Lexi Forney, Journey Forney, Mike Forney, Jr., Xander Jacobs, Darci, Dalton, and Dayson Cash, Jaedin Veals, Jackson and Jace Forney, and Summer and Tatum Yost, sister, Dorothy Franz of Kansas, sister-in-law, Neva West of OKC, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Donations may be made in Joan's name to the American Cancer Society.
