Obituary

Zelma Frances Whitlock was born March 11, 1918 in Hinton, OK to John D. and Etta M. (Denison) Allen. She passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Sommerset Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 99. Zelma graduated from Hinton High School in 1936. She was united in marriage to Harold Emmett Whitlock October 6, 1937 in Guthrie, OK and he preceded her in death March 8, 2016. They served as a team of pastor and full-time preacher's wife, in many churches in Oklahoma and Ohio, over a period of more than thirty years. Harold and Zelma moved back to Hinton from Wauseon, OH in 1986, and were currently living in Moore, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Moore, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Allen and Etta Hagin, husband, Harold Whitlock, grandparents, George and Alice Denison, aunt and uncle, Florence and Arthur Penrod, and one great-great grandchild, Denison Woodall.

Zelma is survived by, one son, Ron H. Whitlock and his wife Vanna of Moore; grandchildren: Dr. David W. Whitlock and his wife Dana of Shawnee, Terri Willms and her husband Brian of Tulsa, and Sherri Chronister and her husband Keith of Tulsa; great grandchildren: Joshua Whitlock and his wife Lane of Shawnee, Ryan Whitlock and his wife Michelle of Shawnee, David Searles Whitlock and his wife Reagan of Rainer, WA, Landon Whitlock of Shawnee, Harrison Shockley of Tulsa, Haley Willms of Tulsa, Jordan Woodall and her husband Daniel of Tulsa, and Cale Chronister and Bailey Lafitte of Norman; great-great grandchildren: Christian, Parker, and Adrienne Whitlock, Jonesie and Franko Whitlock, Harper Woodall, with one more on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
