Roland Kent Chasteen was born on January 19, 1940 in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Clifford David and Ruth Susie (Martens) Chasteen. He passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at his home in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 78. Roland graduated from Hinton High School Class of 1958. He was a Rodeo Clown for his cousins, the Heldermons, as he was growing up. Roland worked as a flour packer at Yukon Mills; worked at the foundry and drove a truck for Fred Jones Ford; delivered for Mistletoe Express; moonlighted as a cab driver; worked for the Hinton Elementary School as a custodian; and retired as a letter carrier for the USPS. Roland was united in marriage to Patricia Gale (Jones) Holley on June 19, 1998 in Weatherford, OK. He was a member of Weatherford Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending family reunions, woodworking, leatherwork, visiting historical places, cooking out at state parks, and attending classic and custom car shows.
Roland is survived by his wife, Patricia Gale Chasteen of the home; son David Chasteen and wife Sue of Weatherford; son Clifton Chasteen of Redland, CA; daughter Julie Monk and husband James of Summerville, SC; daughter Ruth Sullivan and husband Nathan of Hereford, TX; foster daughters Roxy Craft of Cordell, OK; and Cheryl Fitzhugh and husband John of Oklahoma City, OK; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three grandchildren.
