Jon Mitchell Jaques was born January 13, 1958, in Anadarko, OK, to Leon and Virgie (Visor ) Jaques. He passed from this earth on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Jon was raised on the family farm near Hinton, OK with his brothers, Vernon, Donnie and Steve. At a very young age he came to love the land and animals, especially cattle and horses. Jon graduated from Hinton High School in 1977. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Smith and to this unity was born Nicki and Jesse. Jon raised and bred registered cattle and horses including American Quarter Horses and was a life-time member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He had several horses that had bloodlines in high demand for breeding options. Jon also worked in the oil industry as an independent pumper for several years before his retirement. He listened to many types of music and enjoyed dancing, concerts, and rodeos whenever possible. Jon knew his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and drew strength from Him as his health failed. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life. Jon enjoyed nothing more than time spent with family and friends and savored the times someone pulled in the drive to visit.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Virgie Jaques and niece, Brandy Erickson.
Jon is survived by his children, Nicki Walden and husband Jonathan of Coalgate, OK, and Jesse Jaques of Coalgate, OK, and step-children Dusty Oldenburg and husband Jeff of Mulhall, OK and JW Briscoe and wife Tawni of Hinton, OK. grandchildren, McCrae, Maddix, and Mesa Walden, JaLeigh, Callen, and Lincoln Oldenburg, and Colton, Will and Anna Briscoe, brothers, Vernon Jaques and wife Lisa of Mustang, OK, Donnie Jaques and wife Jackie of Hinton, OK, and Steve Jaques and wife Zequetta of Hinton, OK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
