Obituary

Ruby Trixie Wheeler Christensen was born January 3, 1917 North of Gould, OK to Arch Fredrick and Myrtle Virginia Ann (Tucker) Wheeler. She passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Maple Lawn Manor Nursing Home in Hydro, OK at the age of 100. She attended Dryden County Schools. Ruby was united in marriage to Joe Davis and he preceded her in death. She later married George Tinus Christensen in 1950 at Los Cruces, NM, They lived in Iowa until Georges death in July of 1955. Ruby and the kids moved to the Hollis area in 1958 and she lived there for 50 years. She sold Avon makeup for 31 years where she was a member of the Avon President's Club for many years. Ruby moved to the Hinton area in 1985 to live with Terry where she helped raise Kara. She enjoyed cooking, reading the Bible, watching TBN, and most of all being with her family. Ruby was a member of the Lookeba New Covenant Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and siblings, Charley Wheeler, Sr., Leola Hawkins, Velmer Wheeler, Elmer Wheeler, Maudie Fagan, Minnie Gensen, and Clara Wheeler.

Ruby is survived by her three children, Terry Christensen and his wife Shara Dawn of Hinton, Karen Ray and her husband Johnny of Weatherford, and David Christensen and his wife Bev of Yukon; five grandchildren, Jonnie Ray of Bixby, Paula Lausser and her husband Teddy of Yukon, Jeffrey Ray and his wife Rachel of Hydro, Sheila Christensen of Yukon, and Kara Monroe of Hinton; two step grandchildren, Allie and Steve White of Yukon; and fourteen grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to the Maple Lawn Manor Nursing Home in Ruby's name.

Ruby's family will receive friends at the Turner Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.
