Martin John Rudolf Lorenz

September 18, 1938 - November 30, 2017

Martin John Rudolf Lorenz, 79, died November 30, 2017 in his home at Bethany, Oklahoma at the age of 79.

He is survived by his wife Patricia of 35 years; 3 step children, Shelia Weatherford and Jerry of Tuttle, OK; Pamela K. Smith and Brenda of Oklahoma City; Donald R. Smith and Lona of Oklahoma City; 5 Grandchildren (Lance, Kristy, Ryan, Corey and Darcy); 2 Great Granddaughters (Kaylee and Kinsley).

He had one son Martin John Lorenz, Jr. who preceded him in death in 1986, and his parents, Martin Lorenz and Victoria Lorenz.

Marty was born on September 18, 1938 in Okeene, OK to Martin and Victoria (Koch) Lorenz. Then in December of 1961 he joined the Army and one of his many jobs allowed him to see the United States . He loved to eat sweets and play games on his computer. Darcy was his favorite (so she says). Kristy and Ryan seem to think they were the favorites. Marty loved to take rides on his motorcycle around Oklahoma. His sister-in-law Janice enjoyed going out to eat with Marty and Patricia. Corey’s fondest memory was when he cleared Marty’s mileage tracker on his motorcycle (Marty was 10 kinds of mad). Kristy has so many great memories to tell, but we will tell the one about her and Marty dipping pickles in ranch dressing and watching The Yankees. Darcy’s memory of her grandfather was long talks and eating ice cream, oh yeah and she helped him fix computer issues too. They would also fight over who would get the last scoop. His step children said he just loved throwing them around on the inner tube when they were at Lake Texoma. Where he and mom were the happiest. Lance made a comment to Marty that he could not throw him off the inner tube. Well you all know Lance wound up in the water. Pam said she made biscuits and gravy and Marty loved to eat them.
