Tommy J. Schoolcraft

September 28, 1929 - October 4, 2017


Tommy J. Schoolcraft was born in Eakly, OK on September 28, 1929 to Tom and Myrtle Mae (Montgomery) Schoolcraft. He passed away on October 4, 2017 at the age of 88 at his home on the farm near Eakly, OK with his wife and daughters by his side. He graduated from Eakly High School and attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, OK.

Tommy was a lifelong farmer. He was innovative at adapting farm equipment as the need arose. He was one of the first Caddo County farmers to use no till farming. He was also a corporal in the Army Reserves. He and his buddy, Terry Black, were famous pranksters. He was athletic. He was a boxer, a fast-pitch softball pitcher, a pretty good golfer, and professional baseball player. He was a Christian, loved the Lord, and shared his testimony freely.

Tommy enjoyed following his daughters play sports, but especially liked watching his grandchildren. He and Nadine rarely missed a game. He was an avid fan, following several area teams. "It's all downhill, boys", could be heard at every ball game.

Tommy loved to talk. He never met a stranger. He found common ground with everyone he met. Tommy married Nadine Krewall on June 10, 1955 in Corn, OK. They were blessed with 2 daughters and loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Myrtle Schoolcraft, sisters, Leona Pennington, Naomi Russ, and Lovella Leahy.

Survivors Include: his wife, Nadine Schoolcraft of the home Eakly, OK , his children, Treva Jo Parrish and husband Rick of Rush Springs, OK, and Terri Simonds and husband Charles, Jr. of Norman, OK, his grandchildren, Kimberly Kelley and husband Brian, Jodeann Taliaferro and husband Tanner, Bobby Simmons and wife Brandilyn, Trent Parrish and wife Jamie, Maelee Merritt, and Brian Simonds, his great grandchildren, Asher and Isabella Kelley, Lilly and Colt Taliaferro, John, Conner, Tommy and Madilyn Simmons, Case and Teagen Parrish, AmberLynn and Brayden Merritt, sister, Joyce Gleave of Mustang, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
